Rubaiyat Translation Discussion

  1. For some , the translation of Rubaiyat was not the same as FitzGerald's. What I mean is some people thought it was difficult to comprehend. While to others , it was fairly easy.

  2. From My Understanding there are many diffrent translations you cant get from his Rubaiyat But The conclusion i keep coming to is He thinks we waist time trying to get everything perfect when in the end life is short , lets just have fun.

  3. After reading the poem, I can see that the author used so many details. The way the imagery is set up, it allows the reader to relate to the context so graciously. Since its and epic poem, the theme, "seize the day" is often portrayed through the imagery ; thus getting the point across. Khayyam's poem was such an influence on many people that it was translated to many languages, so people around the world would be able to enjoy life. Thus, grasping the theme of seizing the day.
